I drove buy that area on Friday and was surprised that why they have not taken down the traffic signals down. But as you said Mikey they had a ditch and they have done more digging. But why are they going to replace the signal bridge with the two new signals?

SP-Signal visibility

Because they have other people's money to play with and by God they're gonna spend it.

TCS - doesn't change

Maybe the new signals which are lower will give better visibility since it wont be obstructed by the freeway overpass.

When viewed from ground level it doesnt look like the overpass would block the view but when you're sitting up in the cab it may be a problem.

Btw, why are they putting columns that far west of the grade separation? Will the track elevation be raised?

It doesn't show in the plans and OCBridges answer was less than helpful/accurate. Stay tuned

TCS - not much of what they've done makes any sense.

I just noticed that the signals east of the 57 fwy are approach lit but most of the other signals from Basta through Esperanza are not.

TCS, I didnt notice the beginnings of a shofly anywhere. I saw a lot of metal workers putting together rebar for the columns, not much else has changed.

This is a Kramer Blvd underpass thread but since we are talking about Placentia Ave I do have something to say. The signal bridge at 43 is difficult to see for eastbounds

I'll swing by later to see what's new. The temporary R-O-W work at Placentia is coming along, Kraemer just makes my shake my head ....

One of Erin's excavator's is toploading belly dumps as they dig out the new grade for Kraemer south of the intersection with Crowther.
"We'll do the easy part first ..."

TCS - Kramer is on the Mojave sub.

W LACLAC dumping ballast tonight at Atwood. Unsure if related to any grade projects in Placentia.
