The "plan" is to triple track and eliminate most if not all at-grade crossings on the BNSF transcon from Los Angeles to Victorville, CA. The eventual goals being to adequately absorb the inevitable future increases in freight output and regional passenger service, while stepping up through freight maximum allowed speeds throughout the urban sprawl of Southern California.

When will this simple task be accomplished??? how much money you got?

I was talking to a guy who is a manger of a business on Raymond, about 50 yards south (west side) of the BNSF mainline. The business faces Raymond and the building is leased. He says they are forced to move because eminent domain of the building for the up coming grade level separation project at Raymond.

Shoefly /Third track progress: Rails and ties laid from temporary CP Oxford west to Bradford, flash butt welding trucks currently (1pm) near the Melrose cantilever. Tie cars have a single set of ties left but the cars forward have had their gantry rails pulled and chains stowed for transit.
1. looking east
2. looking west
3. gantry rail connector (top, outside edge between cars
4. resting quietly under Bradford pedestrian bridge
5. welding in the distance
6. Placentia Mutual packing house
7. flash butt weld and lots of buttons
8. quiet and shade

TCS - even with the breeze it's bit warm out.

Is the 3rd main being put into place with the shoefly tracks?

RE: Kraemer Blvd & Placentia Ave Underpass Construction Thread - TC Smith - 08-06-2012 02:36 PM

It appears that they'll use it as the shoefly for both Kraemer and Placentia during the overpass construction at those points as it will connect them, afterward BNSF will leave it in place as a siding like Esparanza until the whole project is complete and triple tracked.

TCS - subject to change without notice (a VIA timetable quote).

The elimination of the Placentia Ave and Kramer Blvd grade crossings gives the BNSF a 2.1 mile stretch of crossing free trackage. Close to 11,000 ft of harbor overflow and/or weekend baretable storage. Could it be the "new" Spot-0???

Maybe, but no Del Taco close by ... (but there's The Swig ... reportedly owned by one of my former elementary school teachers ...)
Track laid to the 57, more ties unloaded on the east end to tie in (no pun) the north track. Big dirt pile on Kraemer trucked north toward Brea.
TLM returned to Jefferson M-O-W spur.

TCS - Renzenburrito, pick us up on Fender
