Update: 3am Saturday the 17, rail train still in corona. I couldn't find anything which shows its expected movement within the next 98 hours

I didn't see any cars, let alone a rail train, in Corona this afternoon. Must be hiding it.

Where were ya lookin, Porphyry Yard? Or the West Corona Storage tracks...

As of 1 AM (3/18/12)
There are 27 BNSF rail cars staged on track 4361 (W. Corona Storage Track #1), between Auto Center Dr. and Smith Ave., or just east of the W. Corona Metrolink Station. Total train length is 1620 ft., at 2760 tons. Computer shows, "Destined for Atwood, CA on train R-CAL0141-19", a.k.a Monday morning's Corona Local. Corona Local is on duty at 0501 M-F. Will the train actually be moved on Monday? Beats me, that's just what the computer is indicating.

Happy Hunting...

Mr. MRL

No! Unless 141 picks it up and moves it to spot 0. I don't see the point though, just leave it there until the work train crew gets on it.

Yeah I forget the 4361 (was avoiding flying vehicles at that point ..) Porphry was the emptiness.

TCS - an hour and a half to Colton, rain break on the return

Any news on the rail train?

RE: Kraemer Blvd Underpass - orange choo choo - 03-19-2012 11:35 AM

No sign of any rails at the site. Around 15 guys just standing around, no equipment moving. They still need to move a lot of utility poles, add fill to level the street with the track, and of course add ballast before any rail can be laid.

Maybe the rail train is destined for somewhere else?

Cars are in commerce diesel. A work train moved them over the weekend to lamirada then a Watson job moved them to commerce. 204 is scheduled to pick them up

I think I found it, there's a bunch of rail on the south side of the tracks just west of Orangethorpe.

RE: Kraemer Blvd Underpass - Pacset6 - 03-19-2012 02:51 PM

There ya go. The work train dropped it off over the weekend then.

Update: drove by on my way home from work, about 8 pieces of CWR dropped at Orangethorpe to the bridge at MP 42.0. At the end of one piece is painted "Shoofly B"

Another update: CWR cars, now empty, will be on the LACBAR tonight.
