Light Power with a 6 Axel Genset and an SD40-2
Caught it today in the UCR Botanical gardens.
I had seen it 6 hours earlier going south with a string of baretables. Zach z-trains.com |

Never seen a 6 axle genset that I can remember. Are those rare?

RE: Light Power with a 6 Axel Genset and an SD40-2
Looks like they could have been the same two that were in San Berdo on the 24th. They pulled outta the yard sandwiching two box cars and headed east. They got a couple of streets east of E Street, tied down, and the two man crew headed into a building there next to the tracks. Pretty non-descript building. All it said on it was Training Facility. They both had the RCU control boxes with 'em. I waited for quite a while because I wanted some more shots of the Snoot, but they took too long and I got bored.

The one '40-2 is not the one you saw, but has been perpetually showing up as the power for the SANJAC, along with a GP50. Strangest thing happened on Tuesday. The SANJAC was tied down near the summit of the Box Springs, up at the crossing with Poarch. Why would they do that on a hill? Zach z-trains.com |
