Hi guys,
I'm hoping to come over for the 2010 gathering. Any chance you can arrange it for March 2010 though. A bunch of guys from here are thinking of coming over for Winterail. Its not my thing but I'm going to go for the social factor. If we can arrange a Tehachapi meet the weekend before or after Winterail I would definitely attend. |

Rugby,
We are usually in planning for the annual Needles Sub trip around that time each year. If we wait any later on that trip it is a bit to hot out there. Perhaps you can join us for that trip. ![]() Chris Chris Walker - Forum Owner |

Furthermore on the upcoming weekend..
For those that have attended prior Gatherings, I will not be doing tent or car camping this year.. instead going to relax in the realm of luxury with a bed and running water. If you want to know where people are staying .. ask. ![]() I would like to try and arrange a few group trips if people are interested. In 2007 a couple of us ventured west to Edison and further over to the UP Bakersfield depot. That was interesting and I think some would enjoy the buildings and industries along that area. Also would like to do a night photography group downtown in Tehachapi and over near Monolith for some imagery. If anyone is interested in these, please speak up.. or there are other idea's I am open to them. Chris Chris Walker - Forum Owner |

I won't be participating, but I'll offer a tip on inexpensive lodging in the area. The Motel 6 in Mojave has rooms for under $50 a night. I always ask for a room facing the railroad tracks, which are right across the highway. I believe there are three upstairs and three downstairs rooms on that end of the complex. Only foamers can truly appreciate the special sonic qualities in those rooms!
It is only 20 minutes from there to the town of Tehachapi. DS |

I would prefer to stay in Tehachapi... staying at the LaQuinta (formerly Travel Lodge).. but appreciate the heads up on the other places.
Marshall... second image was taken just east of Bena.. I think close to Ilmon. Chris Chris Walker - Forum Owner |
