At some point, a prolonged lull set in. Thebreezes played gentle melodies as they softly ruffled the grass-rimmed hutwhile the sunlight danced silently on the serpentine curvature.

The lights come on asdusk descends on the hut.

I must say that I wished I could have seen more of the roaming foamerson this beautiful day in the desert, but I'm glad to know they all went off and had fun as well.

And before I turn my attention to a couple of images from Sunday, I'd like to thank Jeff for bringing and setting up the hut even though he personally was not going to make much use of it. It was very much appreciated by all who remained in Ludlow.

On Sunday, many of the group met in Dagget for an enjoyable, albeit notoriously windyafternoon. When Molly announced a train was just a couple of miles out, most left the protection of the trees for a better view. Bob immediately started capturing the expressions on the faces of the crew with his monster lens, but others still needed to let the train roll another few miles before they could get their shots.

The westbound turned out to be a quality manifest. And while Bob has all the shots he'll ever need of it, the train is finally in range for Joseph's cell phone.

Chris

Chris,

That is term that was coined in 1995 when the Dash 9's where new in the pacific Northwest. Goat part of it comes from the scheme from the former Great Northern. Boat part is what GE's in where called in the past. So we have a goatboat. Goodday

Likewise for your image Jeff... the flowers were in good bloom in that image.

Thanks Chris. Fred and Scott, I like your contributions to the report. Great people shots. I arrived in the Ludlow area around 10:00 p.m. I drove over to the crossing for National Trails Highway to capture some night images with the crossing gates and signals. I didn't have to wait very long before a train came along. An eastbound passed through my frame.

After the train passed through the crossing I made my way over to the signals to try a long exposure. During the exposure, my battery quit on me. This was the result.
I made my way to the camp site afterward and visited with those who were still awake. I turned in for the night after changing the battery and trying some other captures in the camp.
