Archive hunting and decided to throw these up for posting, though I think they have been shared before.. just not here.

These were taken on a slightly foggy day back on January 24th 2005.

The BNSF's 1st La Mirada was finishing up some local switching in the Irvine Industrial Center (IIC going forward).

I used to drive by this area every morning and see them working.. had the chance to stop a few times before they stopped showing up.

First image... a foggy signal.

Secondimage is the caboose being cut off the end of the train to make a runaround move. The brakeman appears to be driving across the grade at Valencia Ave.

Third image is with the power on the train, they set up to pull the train across Valencia Ave.

Fourth image shows the old signals and the 1LM coming across. I beleive these were replaced when the grade crossing was redone about a year or so ago.

Fifth image is the train coming across the grade.

They shoved back and grabbed the caboose... or drove it again - I do not remember.
but the first image here shows it connected back to the train.

Next are two images of the 1LM as they await a clear from the Metrolink dispatcher to come out onto the San Diego sub.

After they got back onto the Metrolink line.. they ran north through Orange and ont the Olive Sub... where they headed out to Adams Steel to do their switching.

Here are three images of them on the Olive Sub near Lincoln.

Look how caboose 795 is relatively clean! I don't think she is that nice now.
