Well, it was a short getaway at least for me in most respects. I had to work on Friday night into Saturday morning and then following work I have my firearms class at the range. With that said I wasn't able to make it up to the campground until just before noon on Saturday afternoon.

Went out and about shooting video *ducks and waits for Chris to smack me in the back of my head* and ended up with some good shots considering how exhausted I was. After that it was time to head back to camp for some much needed relaxation. Shortly after arriving at camp I was lucky enough to meet Randy and his wife and spent a bit of time talking about a variety of subjects and it was great to finally put a name to the face.

This morning I told myself and everyone else that I was going to sleep in till 9 or so... But like every camping trip I found myself up at sunrise. Tore down camp and heard the local on the scanner but had a mental failure in remembering locations and realizing the train was going away from me. Caught an Amtrak and then headed for breakfast and then headed home.

Enjoy the video below.

Thanks to Marshall for the invitation. Unfortunately we couldn't get there until about 4:00 and it wasn't a great for shooting trains anyway.

The surfers were looking pretty good as the sun got low. These were all shot with a 70-300mm, mostly at 300mm and ISO 400. If you're a trains-only kinda guy stop here..

Nice video Marshall, you do well but I would rather see your photography as it appeals to me personally more .... here is your smack in the back of the head :snapout:.

Randy... thanks for the Surfer magazine contributions. Well done!

I'll be out Thursday and Friday also. I'll dedicate some of that time to imagery for ya.
