The last rays of sunlight disappeared behind the mountain.

With the lack of sunlight, another eastbound train came up tack 1.

As the day turned to night, the western sky had the setting crescent moon nearing the mountain peaks with Jupiter and Venus visible above.

Earlier, lights had been strung along the trees and across to give us a festive ambiance. We enjoyed the early evening leading to some creative photo opportunities which I hope other will share when they contribute there perspectives.

This final image shows one view of the site under the lights.

All in all, it was another good day out with my friends and a great time meeting new people. I hope you have enjoyed my part of the report. I am looking forward to what others have to contribute to this report and getting their perspectives.

Thank you to all who participated in this event. I had a great time.

Ken

Wow... your last five or six photographs are stunning.

Definately in the art catagory Ken.

Tremendous.

(and thanks for starting the thread...)

My Sunday has been a family day, so it will be a day or two before I can evem think of
processing photos. I got one done, but will holdback and submit them all at once.

I must echo what Ken said about the day, the old friends, and the new ones, too...
Highlights for me would be the walk down to the tunnels with Brett, Fred and Elliott;
and then after dark, sitting under the lights and enjoying conversation while waiting for the eastbound Chef.

Yup, it was a good day...

Thanks to all that made it a fantastic day !!

Really nice work Ken...

I was actually in SoCal for the Thanksgiving weekend, visiting my brother in West Covina. On the way back to Vegas, Saturday afternoon....I convinced my wife to make a quick stop by Summit, so I could at least do a meet and greet...put a name with a face etc.......we made the drive up there, but I think the drive up thecurvy138 made everyone queezy...so to avoid further drama at home etc...LOL...I turned around and headed by to the 15...for Vegas.

Mike, Thank you. It's too bad you didn't get the chance to stop by. It would have been great to meet you. Maybe some other time.

Ken: That was a very nice series of images that you have posted to get this thered off to a great start, I like Jeff am running behind on processing my images of this trip, as I had some other things that I had to attend to today, so it may be a few days before I can get around to posting some of my images... But what a great day yesterday was, and I look forward to seeing some more images from other attendies of this really fun event.

Ken,

GREAT STUFF!

I am so gladI became part of this group and the two trips have been fantastic and really highlights in my year so far.

Tonight was the last day of the LA Auto Show and I just got home at 1:30 but had to check the board, hope to get some photos up in the next day or so.

Thank you ALL for making these days so fun, relaxing and a total pleasure. WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE!

Have Fun,

Fred

Great stuff, Ken! I just wanted to echo what the others have said. It was a great day hangin' out with old friends and the chance to meet new ones.

Charlie B and I arrived in the pass about 10am and headed up to Silverwood. I mainly shot video but managed to fire off a few photos as well. First off is an extremely condensed video of some of the sights and sounds of the day for those who missed it.

And now for some photos.

Starting off in Silverwood an eastbound BNSF stack train makes its way upgrade crossing over from main 1 to main 2.
