The 2nd La Mirada has been the only local that I have caught lately. Every Tuesday I head here as long as I have free time after work.

Last Tuesday was good as the GP40X was on the point. It has been in the consist for the last 3 weeks but facing west so it was not on the point.

Here they are alongside Superior Tank after finishing switching cars there. They are building the air to make their next move.

Next they shoved west and onto the track wich leads to Valvoline to the north west (relative).

I then moved over to Los Nietos Road and watched them switch out two cars at Valvoline.

When they got to the switch point I am guessing the facility vented the cars. Not sure if that is the correct term, but there was a lot of fume/steam/smoke released. (correction welcomed :bgrinSmile

That can be seen in the first image here.

Second image is them switching cars.

Third is them pulling across Los Nietos Road.

Fourth is the Caboose trailing after a quick photoshop job to make sure everyone knows it is red.

Thanks for looking. :compgreet:

While you're processing could straighten out the rails a bit? I get a kink in my neck just looking at them. :omg:

Nice work!

I saw them today at Santa Fe Springs and Switching Valvoline and Superior tank while driving around in my Gold Mercedes if you noticed me Chris. The engineer blew the SP style horn on the 134 a few times and waved at me.

Chris where do you park towatch them switch because I noticed on Los Nietos Road there are no parking sign's today? I tried to find a place to park but drove around instead.

Thanks For the compliments.

Randy... got something here for your kinked neck ...:burp:

I park on Los Nietos right by the tracks. There are not any "No Parking" signs there. There are in other stretches of the street but in front of the business complex on the north and south of the street you can park up to the sign... the arrow points the other way so do not park past the sign. :omg:

My car is in the second to last image in this thread... see it? The Honda right next to the engine crossing Los Nietos.

And as far as today... no I did not see you. I took pictures of them at Lakeland as they were calling the DS to get on the main by the time I made it over there from work.

As far as watching them switch Superior Tank... look for the parking lot in my first image on Googlemaps and you should be able to pinpoint it.

BTW - I do not really pay attention to other cars around me when I am watching trains. Just do not stand near the tracks or I will call you in as suspicious. :signbs:

Chris
