Hear ye, Hear ye...

All ye pilgrims are invited to attend the annual Cajon Pilgrimage near the summit of the sacred railroad pass, Cajon Pass, on the Sabbath following thee National Holiday of Giving Thanks, Saturday November 24th in the year of our Lord two thousand and seven.

Thyself and thy fellow pilgrims will gathereth at sunrise on the hill for a day of festive railfanning. A rumor hath spreadth that concerneth those Pilgrims that desireth to begineth thy day with thee westboundth Chief, and concluding thy Sabbath with thee number four. Thy thinketh that thy shall do likewise, in accordance with thus gossip.

Thee location is thee hill beforeth the track to the south just to the west of Powerline Line Road. Thee graven image attacheth beloweth showeth our brethren and the heathen celebrating thee Pilgrimage from years goneth past.

In other words... We'll be meeting at Pilgrim's Hill on Cajon Pass on Saturday, November 24th. The attached google map from two years ago is still accurate. Follow Powerline Road north from SR-138 to the tracks. Just before crossing over the south track, look up on the hill to your left and you should see our base camp for the day, similar to the image below. (Image by our very own ATSF-BOB).

This location is about one and half miles east (uphill)from Hill 582, and about 1/2 mile west of the knoll at Silverwood. I recall seeing MP57 stencilled on one of the culverts.

This is planned as apre-dawn arrival to beat the number three and then to end the day waving to the number four. That would be a 5:30am to 9:30pm day on the Pass. Pilgrms may arrive and depart at their convinience. As you can see in the image in the link below, it is downright cold in the morning and in the evening. Prepare accordingly... We'll likely huddle around one of the space heaters once the sun goes down.

After looking at the map, the base camp is actually a tick to the left in the middle of the boomerang shaped area...

I am so ready to get up to Cajon again...

I plan on being there! I could not get the Friday off, but I got a shift change so that I can try to show up at the hill by 5am! Planning on doing the Chief to Chief!

Also being part of the Native American faction, I will bring an EZ-UP .. . . er. . . tee-pee tent with me.

Do we need anything else? Such as snacks, food, drinks or bring your own grub?

Finally - For those who dont know how to read a map, but live by the GPS -

N34 20.159 W117 26.511

See-ya this weekend!

I'll give it a shot. I'll even try to get there in time to see No. 3.

However, considering my advanced age, it may be necessary to "join the birds" at some point, or at least take a nap!
