FYI for anyone following this train on the jump from San Jose, CA to Portland OR here is my latest update as of now 5:35PM PDT monday 8-27-07:

I Just tuned in to the West Sacramento scanner feed at Railroadradio dot net and heard this speed restriction.
Keep in mind that the UP 3905 is currently the LEAD unit on the Circus Train.
The following speed restrictions cover the Gridley to Biggs area which is between Marysville and Chico (north Sac Valley area).
These speed restrictions were COMPLETE as of 5:14PM PDT or 1714 hours California Time.
This is the sequence of units on the RED unit Circus Train that was posted earlier from San Jose CA to Portland OR

SSJPD 27

UP 3905
UP 4896
UP 8354
This is all I know about the Circus Train as I write this at 5:27PM PDT California Time:

UP 3905 speed restriction (10 MPH I think??)from milepost 158.0 to 158.25
UP 3905 speed restrictions 15 MPH from milepost 161.25 to 162.20

OK just found this update that reports the Circus Train passed Marysville CA 5:43 PM PDT enroute Dunsmuir CA.
I wonder if Amtrak train 14 Coast Starlight will pass this train somplace prior to Portland OR ???

I've started a new thread since the earlier way was focused on movements in the Bay Area and on the Cal-P.
The UP 3905 departed Marysville at 5:43 p.m. There should be enough daylight to catch it with some sun until it goes into the Sacramento River canyon.
