Dreary Permanente memory
A long time ago in a land far away…okay not that far away. SP 3408 goes on one of its last runs up the Vasona Branch in January of 1995. Permanente, California has not been the same since. SD70M's and GEVO's take the Permanente Local up the branch these days, but with a shorter train.

Man it seems like it was only yesterday that you would see SP bloody-noses everywhere. Now their almost gone. Thanks for sharing your cool photo.Coolphotos

Nice shot of the SP GP9E. If I can recall correctly that wasn't one of V's favorite engines to ride on because of the high hood.

And why not? Riding on the high hood usually provides great visibility. Big Grin
