Two more from that trip.

Nighttime Meet at Lavic

As an eastbound double stack train winds it's way through the S turns at Lavic, the head end of a westbound pig train meets it at half way with the vehicle lights from Interstate 40 on the right. The change in direction of the eastbound bound train is what causes the flare at the apex of the S curve.

Blue Cut

As one of the well known Cajon Pass photo sites, Blue Cut gets it's name from the Serpentine rock formation that was blasted out of the hill side to make the cut for the road bed.

Here, a westbound pig train heads down the pass on its way to Los Angeles.

Beautiful Shot at Lavic Bob I will give you an A+ grade on that picture! Great shot that reminds me of pictures that I have seen from Steve Schmollinger in the Trains Magazine, Pacific Railnews, and CTC Board. He has awesome shots of trains with the long exposure.

Thanks Jonathan.

The exposure was about 4.5 minutes and it was completely dark out with a quarter moon showing.Tongue
