San Diego Quiet Zone
There is going to be a cutover for the San Diego Quiet Zone Saturday July 9th through Sunday July 10th. Their will be a freight window (i.e. no freights) from 9pm till 12 noon, and starting around 6amish there is going to be a Coaster Test Train making multiple runs between SF Depot and Old Town.

This is just some early on work, the Quiet Zone won't go into effect until all the equipment is upgraded over the whole work area, which will take between 8 and 10 months.

RE: San Diego Quiet Zone
Thanks for the update on this quiet zone plan. It will be interesting to see what happens after the plan is instituted. If the city really wants to insure safety, they should put in video cameras at each crossing to catch violators, and levy hefty fines. If they don't......there will be a number of incidents, and an engineers nightmare with pedestrains may ensue.....

RE: San Diego Quiet Zone
And those tickets cost over $460.00 for people that drive around crossing gates when the lights start to flash and people are not allowed to stop on the tracks and that's part of the Anti Gridlock law.
