HG - Umh... sure, yes... okay.

As for the bell on at Basta... pretty common as it is a high trespassing area and somewhat of a blind curve for westbound trains approaching the area.

Likely nothing in the rule book to do it just a saftey pre-caution.

Jonathan is right, I can confirm it. I live up about a mile and half from the yard in La Mirada and have heard it. It's nice to hear something different for a change, and being an SP fan I'll take a P3 any day.

As a La Mirada resident I will "chime" in too. My heart skips a beat when I hear the SP sounding horn every once in awhile. I had just assumed I was hearing it come from the SP/UP line down to Anaheim. Either way it is a treat to hear!

Has anyone seen the yellow bonnet out of la mirada yet. It just pasted basta back into la mirada. Was just wondering if it's a gp60 with boxy nose

Some engineers just leave the bell on the entire trip, they put ear plugs in and dont even notice it.. One reason might be that when an incident occurs, management is quick to ask if the bell was on as a warning device.
