RE: Abandoned car struck at Ball Road Grade Crossing
Metrolink is late due to this, causing major backup on the main.
There were three frieghts. I saw one Frieght rolling through Fullerton Jct. at 18:53,another one pulling to a stop at EBCS Fullerton Jct. at 18:57,and a third stopped at Buena Park at 19:04. The Southwest Chief I'm sure was/is late and I bet Amtrak 590 was late. This is what I heard from DS to the first BNSF: "Yeah...Metrolink is running late and they don't know what they want to do,so I'm gonna send one train up before I get you guys cleared." Talk about a packed main... Nathan - The Amtrak Freak |

RE: Abandoned car struck at Ball Road Grade Crossing
The driver was stuck in traffic and failed to stop clear of the grade crossing. When the gates came down she couldn't pull forward so she attempted to back up as far as she could off the tracks, then got out of the car and ran away. A582 just grazed the car's nose, and was only delayed about 30 minutes.

RE: Abandoned car struck at Ball Road Grade Crossing
Why would the Southwest Chief be late ?
TCS - it never crosses Ball Rd. |

RE: Abandoned car struck at Ball Road Grade Crossing
But the Frieght traffic and late Metrolinks from Ball Rd. traveling along the main would clutter up the tracks for the chief, right?
By the way,it was 22 minutes late into FUL. Nathan - The Amtrak Freak |

RE: Abandoned car struck at Ball Road Grade Crossing
Not necessarily, many sections of the main are triple track with enough space for a godd DS to maneuver an on-time train through.
TCS - just sayin' |
