Roaming & Foaming at Fillmore

This weekend I had the chance to go visit Fillmore and chase its recently rebuilt 2-8-0 steam engine No. 14 where it led an excursion to the Christmas Tree Farm where passengers would select & cut "the perfect tree". But first I made a small detour at Stoney Point in Chatsworth to see if I could take some shots of the Amtrak Surfliner going downhill along the rocky lanscape but all I was able to get was this shot of the 768 about to make the turn into the Chatsworth Station.
   
After Chatsworth I continued my trip up to Fillmore for the old No. 14. This shot is of No. 14 crossing the Sespe Creek Bridge

This train runs somewhat slow therfore it allows for enough time to get to another location further up the line to set up your shot. This shot was taken a few yards from where the tracks cross Hwy 126.

This shot is where the train is about to enter the Christmas Tree Farm near Santa Paula.
   
Passengers disembarking the train gettig ready to search for their Christmas Tree. At the tail end is Fillmore's EMD GP35 which was the locomotive that would pull the Christmas Train back to Fillmore.

To my knowledge, she'll be doing the Christmas Tree excursions every weekend (Sat & Sun) until the 24th.
