RE: What is happening at the west end of Colton Yard?
I have never heard of any overpass at Temple - that portion was/is to be removed from service when the 4-track UP side is done with the new connector (still as yet unfinished) west of Temple.
The current WC to Pomona segment ends at the east end of Pomona.

TCS - not like a train could hit you there anyway.

Probably a misunderstanding on my part. I was thinking of the Pomona west of Hamilton, not the Amtrak Pomona. And when I read of eliminating the Temple crossing, I didn't think there was enough track to service the two warehouses east of Temple if the crossing was gone. Maybe some realignment will take place to get into the siding further east, I dunno.

A.C.E. referred to the Temple Ave. project http://www.theaceproject.org/photo/mainmap.jpg as both 'Grade Separation' & 'Track Diversion'. The first one must of stuck in my memory as a different part of the whole thing.

Anyway, there is still a lot to do.

Steve

RE: What is happening at the west end of Colton Yard?
The combined distance of both warehouse spots is less than the track length past the switch so that's not an issue, plus the most I've seen in there was 6 cars.
I agree, that map isn't clear on the Alhambra(SP) side but in the Phasing and Scheduling list it's shown as a train diversion - the cut-over from the UP side west of Pomona ave.
Pomona/Hamilton west is the A.C.E., east of Pomona Amtrak is the current UPee double tracking that has been in process for a couple of years now and is regaining steam.

TCS - indeed, much to do (plus more crossovers ...)

Here's a quick grab shot from Sierra Ave. showing the work going on at the receiving yard:

The yard is going to look nice with all new concrete ties. Big Grin
