I have seen scummier area's in Whittier and if you think that area is spooky .. do not bother trying to hit any of the better rail area's in downtown LA. You will run screaming with your camera up your wazoo. ... yes it is how the movies portray them.

That's because the movies are filmed there... Most folks would be surprised how much of that run down property just west of the LA River near Downtown LA is owned and/or controlled by a network of major film studios and production companies.

Either way it is real life, not movies when the movies are not being filmed. My point being that the little "barrio" south of Fullerton station should be of very little concern.
