Moving to Fullerton
Well folks, after spending 10+ years living in the High Desert near the Cajon Subdivision, my dad and I will soon move to Fullerton by the end of this month. I won't be at a new home right away since we may have to live with other relatives.

Pros: able to live nearby the former ATSF station, being near the same mainline that many rare or special trains use, being able to meet other railfans, and being closer to relatives.

Cons: Urban sprawl (too much development, and no wide, open spaces), when 3751 comes, the line will be infested with foamers every square inch of the way (unlike Victorville, there aren't really any vast, open spaces to avoid confrontation with competitive foamers).

RE: Moving to Fullerton
Well, you'll be able to come hang out on friday nights....

Bummer about being farther away from the high desert action though.

There are plenty of places people will not be for the steam run. Fullerton Station will not be one of them... but Fullerton is NOT just the station. You have much to discover.

Thanks Chris. I have been to a couple of other places nearby, but that's about it. Hopefully I'll find more in Fullerton.

I think that's a deal-breaker Sign-muhahaha-0021

Most anywhere in socal has urban sprawl and living by the station is not that big of a deal because it will get blah after a while. Just choose a place that's relatively safe.

My parents used to live in Apple Valley and when I visit I would hear train horns all through the night, which I miss. I'm sure you will miss the high desert and the proximity to Cajon and Barstow, but urban sprawl has been there for quite a while although its not as bad as down here.

It wasn't me.
