RE: How Does Dispatching Work?
Half Priced Books is hit and miss. 100 bucks is ridiculous however they really don't know how to appraise railroad related books. I've picked up rare out of prints books next to nothing in mint condition such as Hemppill's Salt Lake Route published in 1995 for 25 bucks. It had zero wear and appeared as if it was never looked at.

Try this.

In TWC, track warrants provide authority. So in TWC-ABS a train could have a green signal but unless the Track Warrant give the train authority past that signal, they can not proceed.

In CTC, unless otherwise restricted, the absolute signals convey authority.
In Direct Traffic Control its similar to that of TWC control. Here is train BNSF 6700 coming up to Fullerton in DTC territory well he can not proceed until the DS would authorize him to proceed through the "Fullerton Block". If the DS allows him to proceed through 3 blocks the DS would say "BNSF6700 East with Engineer Robbie at 1340 is allowed to proceed through three blocks Fullerton through Esperanza."

SP-DTC Blocks have signs as to which block a train is leaving and the block its entering.

Epic fail, you missed one critical part of the equation.

So class, what have we learned prior to jonathan's post that will indicate his mistake ?

TCS - "I'm gonna explain something that's already been explained ..." (and get it wrong)

RE: How Does Dispatching Work?
Alright what was the critical part of the question I missed?

SP-Comprehension isn't always easy.

Humor us please.

You are asking what critical part you missed when 99% of the time you emphasize you know what you are talking about but unable to prove you comprehend the application of the rule?

Put down the crack pipe.

Direct Traffic Control is nothing like Track Warrant Control.

RE: How Does Dispatching Work?
When it comes to dispatching what are the pros and cons about using Track Warrant Control vs Direct Traffic Control?

Good response Axy! I know I am not always right and I am not afraid to admit it.

SP-Like to learn.
