Some more than Average trains at Pepper
Last Monday I went out to Pepper to watch some trains. Even though I had my old standard-def camera with me, I Movie actually converted the video into full HD! Here are some of the catches from that momentous night.

PS: this is the night which I got the two P40s on the Southwest Chief.

Nice catch on the GeePs ! Consider shooting from the other end of the bridge ? lots of light on that side.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't done a whole ton of night shooting at Pepper, but I have around 7 hours of tapes shot there!

Nighttime is a lot of fun, can be super busy too. Traffic is slower too since they closed the Pepper gate. Sunshine behind you, tower lights too - and it gives you a whole new look.

TCS - is that Riverside ? yeah, sort of ...

Except for the fact that at Pepper you don't have police coming after you. Now down at 9th street, look out for the Helicopters, they're watching you.

They've got a few civillinan birds up in the air circling the project that's underway.

I gots peeps in Barrio Colton so while not actually bullet-proof, the MM has my back.

TCS - on a clear night (like tonight) Pepper should be spectacular.

I'm always out on the wrong nights then. In my video, there's so much dust, smoke, and other pollutants hanging close to the ground.

Any idea why track maintenance would be re-welding a section of track at 7 in the evening?

Anytime there's an offshore wind or breeze it clears all that shtuff out of the air and you have a background of lights all the way up to Redlands, down toward Riverside and Mo Valley, north toward Cajon, and west.
Broken rail doesn't wait and there's no such thing as banker's hours in M-O-W.

TCS - surprised to see the tamper and regulator out of the pocket at 4pm amidst the rush.
