It's just a short term lease until MH 89 is operational which could be at any time. I imagine it will be hard for the SC&MB crew to give up the GP38-2 and move over to the GP9 which has seen better days. Two other locomotives will be brought in for the holiday train and the Rail Corridor Acquisition Celebration. |

They were the Spirit of Washington number 82 and 84 destine for Santa Cruz dinner train. Thanks for becoming a member of the forum and providing some background on WCRC 82 and WCRC 84 which are now SC 1101 and SC 1102 respectively. SC 1101 and SC 1102 are currently the locomotives for the Train to Christmas Town in Santa Cruz and will most likely be the locomotives for the dinner train sometime next year. You can learn more about them in the thread I started at the link below. I just photographed both of them backing the Train to Christmas Town down Beach Street late this afternoon. There are nine pages of photographs. http://www.westcoastrailforums.com/threa...l#pid71668

That's Howser Way in Renton - 4 blocks of street running that also sees Boeing Next Gen 737 fuselages. "Our" house was just a 2 minute drive away (but I turned over those keys many years ago). TCS - the railfan route would get you to downtown Seattle faster than the freeway - and you went south first. |
