Hey guys today I was trying to listen to BNSF's La Mirada Switcher over my scanner on AAR 160.650 and on 160.590 and didn't hear the crew talk on those channels. For a long time I would hear them communicate on 160.590 when they were switching and go onto 160.650 when they were ready to communicate with DS15 at SF Springs Crossovers. What other AAR frequency have you guys heard them communicate when they are switching?

I have heard them on 160.590 but would assume they have a back up channel to use if they really needed to.
For switching Valvoline they do not really need the radio as most of it can be done with hand signals. It is all in line of sight. I do not really hear them much on the radio when they were switching. Guess it depends on the crew. Chris Chris Walker - Forum Owner |

Most of the time I hear them on the radio when they are rearranging their train when they are finished switching Valvoline and when they call the Dispatcher.
