January Tour - Carson, Wilmington, Long Beach, Commerce
Back in January I took a tour (self guided of course) of the ports of LA and Long Beach area. I rounded out my trip with a stop at Commerce.

Here are some images.

A couple patched SP engines were hanging out along Alameda street in Carson. Got a few grabs on my drive-bye.

UP 7797 had just arrived at Dolores and the crew on board pulled the power off the train.

UP 7787 was caught coming through CP Sepulveda with a west bound stack train.

PHL 40 came up the Dolores Industrial lead and took the Wilmington Wye before getting stopped at Long Beach Jct. to wait for a passing stack train.

Nice shots Chris. It is funny to see those PHL SD's (or ex SD's?) with the flared radiators.

RE: January Tour - Carson, Wilmington, San Pedro, Long Beach, Commerce
I took a drive to Long Beach to wait for the PHL 40 to come through CP Gaspur.

Before they could come through they had to wait for BNSF 7234 to clear with their shove out of Pier B yard.

PHL 40 came through next in some much better light then I previously had. I really like these PRLX engines and glad that PHL picked up a few.

In the UP Mead yard, they had MOW work underway on the west end and a crew switching cars around on the east. Thankfully they were using road power. UP 2419 and UP 9904.

There was not much going on the PHL yard in Wilmington but a grabbed a heat distorted image of the PRLX red-kitty, PHL 30, 80 and 81 hanging alongside the engine house at Pier A yard.

I just missed PHL 63 running long hood forward to Badger Bridge, but did catch this image as they moved through CP Dominguez..

Great series Chris. Liking that full plow on the PHL 40.
