RE: GRAINER 7796 OT
I am taking a guess your referring to a Grainer as a Grain train?

G-PASBAR1-14A - 84 loads, 0 empties, 11,676 tons, 5164 feet (w/ power).

Power:
BNSF 7796
BNSF 769
BNSF 702
BNSF 5073 (DP)
BNSF 7873 (DP)

Departed Chemult, OR @ 1349 (7/19/12) 112 hr 33 min late...

Train is hauling ~420,000 cu. ft. of bulk refined wheat destined for Horizon Milling LLC (Cargill) out of Stockton, Verdemont, & City of Commerce, CA; and ADM Milling & Cereal Food Producers (General Mills) out of Los Angeles, CA. So, theoretically the train is headed for So Cal, just in bits & pieces. (& lacking the red & silver...)

Mr. MRL - nothing special really, these trains run all the time...

RE: GRAINER 7796 OT
If there are enough cars left for the last two locations which, I believe is on the UP, the train with BNSF power (what ever is on beyond Barstow) could run via UP from West Colton to LA.

It's probably safe to assume that the LA and City of Commerce cars will go out of Barstow on the WinkleBar and then be sent out on the Gemco Hauler to be dropped along the way.

RE: GRAINER 7796 OT
Today's El Segundo Switcher had a bunch of grain hoppers on it (most of them BNSF). I was hoping he'd head to General Mills before I had to leave, but he went to Vought and spent time there, so I had to give up and go home.

(Which is ironic of course, because most Saturdays I am hoping he'll come west of the 110 Freeway... this was the one day I was thinking, go back east...)

RE: GRAINER 7796 OT
The LAJ also gets grain for the General Mills plant in Vernon, so they have to come into LA on the BNSF at some point.
