My day on Cajon started out much later than I had hoped. I arrived around 11AM. At least I didn't miss out on the view of the snow! My first train of the day was a BNSF pig train. I had decided I was going to use my 55-250mm lens for the day. I was determined to take some hand held shots with that lens and have them come out clear. THe nice thing is that I was able to get some candid shots of Bob without him even knowing I was around.

Next up, we were visited by a BNSF stack train. A photo line quickly formed as the stack train was chased down the hill by UP. Also, Jack was amused when Danny's head was eaten by his own hat.

"FINALY TIM POSTS HIS PICTURES FROM PILGRIMAGE 09."
Sorry I'm late with these, but I did not know how to resize my pictures down to the 600kb size. So almost a year after here are the pictures that I'm sharing with everybody. My first pictures are from the former site of Cajon. Westbound 4182 leads a stack train down the pass. [attachment=13467] [attachment=13468] Picture two is a quick grab shot of a west bound UP train that turned out cool. [attachment=13469] Tim~ Forum Moderator |

This was taken on one of the forest service road that eventually became my first Avatar.

RE: Cajon Pilgrimage 2009
Me and Chris Parker eventually made it to the Pilgrimage site. There was a good group of us there. Here is my first shot from there.
[attachment=13474] There was a westbound UP train coming so a lineup quickly formed. With Chris, Scott, Bob and Brett ready for it. [attachment=13475] Union Pacific's brand new ES44AC 7404 leads SD70M 4884 with a west bound "Quality". [attachment=13476] Tim~ Forum Moderator |

RE: Cajon Pilgrimage 2009
In the UP manifest there was two old heritage cars in the train. The first is a badly tagged up Chessie System boxcar. The second is a CNW bulk-head car.

RE: Cajon Pilgrimage 2009
After the train left I road my bike down to the forest service road to get a different perspective of the area. The first group is of a east bound UP manifest.
UP 5390 a ES44AC coming towards me. [attachment=13481] Going away. [attachment=13482] This is definitely one of my favorite pictures from that day. [attachment=13483] Thank you for letting me share this with you. All comments are welcome. Tim~ Tim~ Forum Moderator |
