I thought Fullerton didn't stop supporting the event, but that the Historical Plaza group backed away whenFullrton failed to adopt its museum proposal?

I think a mistake to move it from fullerton. the closeness of the fullerton station to the real thing, the availability of tracks to hold more engines and cars is a real draw.
I attended saturday and although nice exhibits, still not as good of a setting and i think attendance was way down pulling out of fullerton did not help the cause when asked where they might locate the museum, they said it was a secret, which tells me it is a long way off |

It is a long way off and there is already a top tier RR museum in Perris (OERM).
In the past the Fullerton City council always kept the door open to the museum. Two years ago there was a regime change and the museum was kicked to the curb so to speak. After that there was no reason to have RR days since the event was billed as a fund raiser and out reach for the proposed museum. Something really earth shaking (along the lines of the Rapture) would need to happen for RR days to return to Fullerton. AKA El Roco Photography Want to see my Avatar full size? |

fullerton is still the best option for the fund raiser event, 30000 trumps the 10000 at brea, and many folks were going to restaurants and the theatre, the exhibits were an afterthought.
the donation area was paltry, at least what I saw If we are going to have a train museum in Orange County, then the best site for the event should be used, I think. I won't be going back next year, one of the highlights was the chance to tour real rail cars and see some engines the genset and location just did not click if they do it next year, I wish them better luck, and don't do it when the steam train is running |

I might have gone down to see it and see the Genset, but the timing of the event was poor. There are just so many railfans out there. Hard to compete with the 3751.

Hard to compete with the 3751.We were able to do both, but we did not chase the train or ride it. No doubt, Fullerton was the best place to have RR days, but the powers that rule don't give a rodent's posterior about it, so that is where it stands - in Brea. RE: Railroad Days 2010 in Brea
Is there any update on the Fullerton City museum? I remember the RR days from years ago and it was a blast. There was so much around to see.

RE: Railroad Days 2010 in Brea
Pretty sure City withdrew from support when it cuddn't see economic rationale...that's when Rail Days sponsor moved 'Daze'to Brea, but I guess you'd have to ask them about next event plans.
