Must not be expecting much 'on-track' exhibits as most ex-PE e/o Berry was pulled up by UP some time ago? Good luck to them, of course.

True.. not much track exist there anymore, but their green line is about correct in length if I was to guess.

Certainly enough space to bring in 3 or 4 privates and a few engines. Plus whatever they bring in will have to come by my place on the Brea Chem Industrial to get there which is more exciting then the whole festival in my opinion and I work about 5 mins from there as well.

Birch Street is well suited for large crowds as well. They often close the street for Jazz festivals and Farmers Market events once or twice a week.

I just hope they can get railroad type sponsors interested.

:rocker:

Thanks for sharing the info link David.

I do not know that area very well, how is that area for public parking for an event like that?

Birch Street is a large social area with 2 large multiplex theaters and two large parking structures.

Parking over where the tracks are is none to zilch.

The tracks that are still in place via the route west to Berry and down to the tracks seems reasonably close!

I am missing your point Mike.

There is no public parking near the tracks which is why there is mention of some sort of trolley set up.

That point would be; Park in the Birch St Parking and take the trolley or walk the route shown on the map that was in the above link. :tu:

Here is the map plus a clear version..

How 'bout rafting up Brea Canyon Creek?

btw, what is that little bridge at end of Mercury Lane for(ped/bike path to Mall?)?

maybe this will trigger U.P. to finally file for formal approval of track abandonment there--a technicality overlooked when rails lifted. Or invite FRP(oops, SCRP) to reinstall them
